C-LEARN Hosts First Community Conference

Community members and C-LEARN partners came together at Cafe Reconcile on June 22 for C-LEARN's first community conference.

We presented initial themes that have emerged from phase 1 of our research and listened to feedback from conference participants. These themes included: partnerships/collaborations, communication, preparation, access to services, cultural competence, and mental health/substance abuse.

Partners Sustain the Nine and Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program shared information on their work in the areas of disaster resilience and experiences as C-LEARN partners.

Members of the NOLA Partnership for Mental Health shared their experiences and information about experiencing serious mental illness during and after a disaster.

Thank you to Cafe Reconcile for a day and to all of our community members and partners who took the time to participate! To learn more about how you can get involved with C-LEARN, email Olivia Kacsits.
